The New Jersey Psychedelic Therapy Association’s mission is to provide education regarding the use of psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT) to treat mental health conditions and to promote human flourishing; to advocate for sensible legislation involving the use of psychedelic medicines; and to provide support to practitioners engaged in this meaningful work.
NJPTA recognizes that studies conducted by nationally and internationally recognized medical institutions indicate that some psychedelic medicines, especially ketamine, psilocybin, and MDMA, have shown efficacy, tolerability, and safety in the treatment of mental health conditions, including, but not limited to addiction, depression, anxiety disorders, and end-of-life psychological distress.
We maintain that mental health providers are uniquely qualified to educate consumers regarding the potential benefits and challenges of psychedelic-assisted therapy and to support clients in processing or integrating psychedelic experiences and to encourage vital harm reduction practices.
